Undergraduate Student Training
The Laboratory supports practical training for undergraduate students of the Department, as well as students from other University departments, in courses related to computers and their applications.
The Computer Laboratory and Applications Laboratory serves as the Department's Computing Centre and is located in rooms B/M 035-036, B/M 037-038, B/M 039-040, B/M 044, B/M 015 and B/M 145 of the Biology/Mathematics Building.
The Laboratory supports practical training for undergraduate students of the Department, as well as students from other University departments, in courses related to computers and their applications.
Thesis projects are carried out on topics related to computer science and computing technologies.
Research activities are conducted by postgraduate students and faculty members.
Training seminars are organized on the use of computing technologies.
Internet services are provided to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as to members of staff.
The Laboratory generally supports the Department's teaching and research needs involving the use of computing equipment.
The use of the Department's network services and the equipment provided in the laboratories is governed by specific regulations.
The Laboratory maintains a dedicated Data Centre (Computer Room) specifically designed to host the Department's central infrastructure, including servers, active networking equipment, and related systems. The facility meets the required standards for such environments, including appropriate lighting, air conditioning, temperature and humidity control, uninterrupted power supply with multiple safety mechanisms, fire protection systems, and other essential infrastructure.
The office facilities of the Laboratory cover approximately 90 square metres and are highly functional, featuring modern and fully equipped workspaces.
