Organizational Chart

A University is composed of Schools that encompass groups of related academic disciplines. Each School is divided into Departments. The Department constitutes the fundamental academic and administrative unit and covers the scientific field of a given discipline. The Department’s curriculum leads to a single integrated degree.

The Department of Mathematics, together with five (5) other Departments, forms the School of Natural Sciences. The School of Natural Sciences (SNS) is the continuation of the former School of Physics and Mathematics, which began operating in the academic year 1966–1967, two years after the founding of the University of Patras. In 1983, it was reorganized and renamed the School of Natural Sciences.
