Pedagogical and Teaching Competence

The Department of Mathematics awards a Certificate of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence (CPTC) to graduates of the Department who enrolled up to and including the academic year 2026–2027. The Certificate is awarded to graduates who have successfully completed the following six (6) courses, which fall within the fields of education and pedagogy, learning and teaching, and mathematics education:

Introduction to Computers and Programming with FORTRAN

Calculus I

Statistical Inference I

Pedagogical and Teaching Competence through Degree Completion

For students admitted to Higher Education Institutions before the beginning of the 2013–2014 academic year, the provisions in force prior to Law 3848/2010 apply. These graduates are considered to possess pedagogical and teaching competence upon obtaining their degree (Article 66, paragraph 2a, of Law 4589/2019). Consequently, no separate certification document is issued.
